Unrelated to the birthing industry, I attended Centennial College in Toronto for Travel Counseling. I stayed in the travel industry for three years before moving on to a large computer company where worked full time until June 2008.
My career turned to childbirth after the birth of my son, now 4 years of age. I realized the need in the birthing industry for a little more care, more compassion for the birthing family and most especially recognized a need for parents to be more informed about the birth process.
My husband Jason is a wonderful advocate for the birthing industry, and supports me being on-call 7 days per week, 24 hours a day!
I completed the Professional Labour Support Training Course in May of 2006 and am currently working on the Childbirth Educators Certificate Program operated through Lamaze. I have been a certified Doula through DONA International since January 2008 however, have been working as a Doula since 2006.
I am very passionate about pregnancy, birth and preserving the right of parents to have a wonderfully memorable birth experience.
